Alexandra Love, LMFT, CSAC, CSOTP

Alex is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider.  She has years of experience treating individuals struggling with substance abuse and the many challenges that come along with it including relationship issues, coping with difficult emotions, increasing self-control, recovering from trauma, establishing healthy relationships, and improving communication skills.  Alex believes these are challenges also faced by those for whom substance abuse is not a problem, and is able to assist individuals, couples, and families improve these areas of their lives as well. 

While Alex works with people dealing with many challenges such as mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, and trauma, she specializes in the treatment of juvenile and adult sexual abusers. She believes that every single person is inherently valuable and capable of change, no matter what may have happened to them or what they may have done. Alex understands that people who have sexually offended are often concerned about being judged or shamed for their mistakes so she approaches her clients with respect and non-judgement as she develops a trusting therapeutic relationship with them and partners with them in developing a better understanding of themselves and others and assists them in finding healthy ways to meet their needs and prevent reoffending.

Regardless of what brings someone into therapy, Alex's approach is collaborative and is built upon the assumption that her clients know themselves best and are the experts on themselves.  She seeks to know and understand her clients well so that she can assist them with uncovering and identifying their goals, strengths, and values to help them move forward in their lives and relationships. 

Alex's desire is that through the work she and her clients do together, her clients will uncover and overcome blockages that create distance in relationships with themselves and others so that they are better able to give and receive love.

Daniel Henkel, LMFT

Dan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families.   He is certified in EMDR and skilled in the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, anxiety, attention deficit and disruptive behavior disorders, addiction, and borderline personality disorder.  

Dan is experienced in the use of Bowen’s Family Systems Theory. He recognizes that one's past is a major force of influence in their present-day life and recognizes that one individual in a family has the power to change the entire family system. Dan also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a combination of Structural, Experiential, Solution-Focused, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with persons from diverse cultural, social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.  Dan is a peacemaker and healer of relationships who understands the connection between spiritual and mental health and believes that therapy is a process of healing that requires the building of trust and a willingness to work together.  Dan respects and works with people from various faith traditions, and is able to provide Biblically-based therapy for those desiring a Christian/faith-based perspective. 

Dan operates from the belief that everything we do is communication and an expression of ourselves and our unmet needs which impacts how we interact with ourselves and others, and how we perceive our life’s circumstances.  He believes that we are all trying to communicate our needs but that not everyone is able to understand what we are trying to say.  He wants to help people who are desiring to find more fulfillment in their lives and relationships.
